Our Vision

'That we may present everyone mature in Christ'

Colossians 1:28

We aim to do this by:
  • Loving Jesus
  • Building Relationships
  • Serving our Community
These form the three main pillars of our vision and are all important parts in helping us as individuals and collectively as a church to become mature in Christ.

We recognise that we are all at different place on our journey in our relationship with Jesus (and some may not have started yet - find out about who Jesus is by clicking here). We acknowledge that maturity will look different for different people, although there will be some common features.

What is a mature Christian?

A mature Christian is someone who is:
  • Moving on with Jesus
  • Outward looking
  • Operating in their ministry
  • Building others up
Our vision is based upon Colossians1:9-2:6 and we invite you to read this section of the Bible in order to get the full picture of what we see our role is as a church and as individuals.

The Three Pillars

The three pillars of our vision are just as important as each other. Without one in place the whole structure becomes unstable. Each relies upon the other and works in conjunction with the others to help us 'become mature in Christ'.

Loving Jesus - This pillar is all about our personal relationship with Jesus. As a church we will do everything we can to help you develop and grow in your relationship with Jesus. The more we know and love Jesus, the more like Him we become.

We help you to 'love Jesus' through: building banner

Building Relationships - This pillar is all about getting to know one another better so that we can pray together and support each other (mutual care). As we share our lives together and encourage one another in our faith the church will be strengthened. We come to realise we are not in it alone.

We help you to 'Build Relationships' by:
  • Encouraging everyone to be part of a small group
  • Barnabas Team
  • Bring-and-Share  fellowship meals

Serving our Community - This pillar has two parts to it. It looks inward, at how we can serve our church community as well as looking outward to serving the wider Wisbech community and telling them about Jesus.

There are many opportunities for you to get involved and to volunteer in a wide variety of different ways in order to make a contribution to the life of our church. Please visit our 'Get Involved' page or come along to our of our 'Connect' events to find out more.

We also have a variety of ways in which we reach out into our town to share the good news and love of Jesus with them:
  • Messy Church
  • Volunteering for community projects such as Wisbech Foodbank
  • Wherever you work and play!
