What We Do

Sunday Service:

All-age Family Service
We currently meet at the St. Raphael Club on Love Lane, click here for directions. The service starts at 11am and is finished by 12:30pm.  Find out about God's love by playing games, watching video clips, drawing pictures and tug of war!  The whole church makes a contribution into the meeting, through prayer, song, prophecy, scripture and testimony.  We believe the Holy Spirit is present to lead and inspire us in what we do.  There will be a short talk, based on the Bible, that is designed to help us know God and teach us how to live, by trusting in what God has said.  Communion may be included, to which everyone is invited, if they wish. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available during and after the service.  A collection is not taken during the service, but there is a basket at the back of church for regular giving.  Alternatively you could set up a standing order or use the website here.

During the summer holidays the times and venue of our Sunday service usually change, as many are away on holiday.  Please check here for more information if you are visiting us during the Summer months.

Mid-Week Meetings:

On the first Wednesday evening of the month, there is a Church prayer meeting run by Clive and Fiona at 14 Clarkson Avenue.  Here, we pray for the church and for each other.  Click here for directions to 14 Clarkson Avenue.

'Genesis' our Youth Group:

Sunday 3.30-5.30pm Genesis is The King's Church Wisbech's youth group for teens aged 12-18.  We have one main meeting a week on Sunday afternoons, although we sometimes get together on a Friday night for more social events.  So if you like friends, playing games, watching movies, reading the Bible, eating snacks, going to gigs, or just having a giggle 'Genesis' is the place to be! It would be great to have you come along! Find out more here!

On The Streets:

10.00 - 11.00am: On the first Saturday of every month a group of people from the church meet in Wisbech Market Place, in amongst the fruit and veg, to tell people about Jesus and to let them know about the church.  A small group of musicians sometimes join them.  Come and meet us in the Market if you are in town!

KCW Presents:

We have some great musicians that are members of our church, and some have even recorded and released albums.  To tap into the creativity flowing from the church and to give people from Wisbech a good night out we try to have a concert in Wisbech every six months or so.  So far we have had 'As If', a band from Aylsebury, 'Yarden', an anthemic guitar band from the South East, 'Howard Williams' from Lincoln, Chris Mercer and our own 'Matt McChlery'. For more information about 'KCW Precents' and our future events please click here.

Bird walks:

bird watchingOur resident ornithologist, Dave Nurney, sometimes organises bird walks for the congregation.  Those who enjoy bird watching or simply enjoy walking in the great-out-doors have enjoyed their visits to the various bird and nature reserved in the surrounding area.  Keep your eyes open in church to hear when the next bird walk is taking place.

Song Writing Workshops:

calssical groupRoughly once every three months, some creative-types from the church get together and have a go at writing songs.  They are a mixture of musicians, poets and creative writers.  As well as learning a few song writing tips, some good songs have been written during these times and indeed, some have been sung at church, such as 'Lead us on'.  Check the church notices to find out when the next workshop is.

Food:

dinnerAs well as meeting socially for meals or other occassions in one another's homes, there are some good church-orgainsed social events.  Each Summer we have a church picnic in the local park. There are a couple of progressive dinners organised during the year where the people involved each take turns at hosting a course of the meal, which is great fun as well as a good opportunity for people to get to know each other better.  And for those with a sweet tooth, there is even a 'Festival of Puddings'!

DIY:

DIYPaul Reitman co-ordinates a group of volunteers from the church who are willing to give of their time and skills to help those who have various DIY tasks that need to be done in and around the home.  This service is open to church members as well as to those in the general community.  If you would like to join the team, or require their services, please contact Paul or email the church offices.
