Get Involved
The King's Church, Wisbech is totally supported by its members. Therefore, volunteers are an essential part of how we function. We want you to grow in your gifts and talents and a great way of doing this is for you to get involved in church. There are many opportunities. So join a team today! After all, church is what you make it!
Sound Team - Matt McChlery (Team Leader)
Being part of the sound team involves the carrying of some heavy equipment (speakers / amplifiers) and a lot of behind-the-scenes work. Plugging in microphones, rolling and unrolling cables, as well as operating the sound desk. No experience is needed as training will be provided. You will need to be willing to arrive 1 hour before the service starts and stay for about 30min after the end of the service. If you are interested please speak to Matt.
King's Kids - Clive Butcher (Team Leader)
If you are interested to help working with primary school aged children, please speak to Clive. King's Kidz runs every Friday evening during the school term. If you do volunteer, you will not need to come every week.
PLEASE NOTE - Every volunteer for 'King's Kids' will need CRB clearance!
Youth Group - Clive Butcher (Team Leader)
Our Youth Group has recently undergone a few changes. If you would like to work with the young people of the church and community (teenagers) and would like to help with the Youth Group on a Sunday afternoon, please speak to Clive.
PLEASE NOTE - Every Youth Group Leader will need CRB clearance!
Armenian Ministries - Lorraoine (Team leader)
As a church we have partnered with Armenian Ministries. There are lots of opportunities to get involved with a variety of initiatives, both at home and abroad. The elders encourage everyone to play their part in our support if this valuable ministry. More information, volunteer forms etc. can be found on the Armenian Ministries page.
Prayer Chain - Mike and Carol Forrest (Team Leaders)
Do you enjoy praying? Can you commit to pray about the needs of the church and various church members on a regular basis? The prayer chain is a mailing list (both on email and via phone) where various prayer requests are circulated for prayer chain members to pray about. If you would like to do join the prayer chain or make a prayer request, send us an email from our Prayer page.

Multimedia Team - Matt McChlery (Team Leader)
Ever wonder who controls the words on the screen on Sunday? If you have basic computer skills and are willing to learn, then you can join the multimedia team. They set up the computer and projector before the service, as well as find songs on a data base and control the scrolling of the words during the singing.
Band - Matt McChlery (Team leader)
Can you sing, or play an instrument? Then why not join the King's Church, Wisbech band! We mainly play modern worship songs, some written by members of the church. However, we also play hymns, as variety is good. We practise every Thursday night. Speak to Matt if you are interested.
Stewards, Set Up & Tea Team - Lesley McChlery (Team Leader)
Do you have a friendly face and enjoy meeting people? The stewarding team greets everyone at the door as they arrive for a service and hands out the news leaflets and Welcome Packs. They also help set up the service by putting out tables and chairs. The tea team make the tea! (surprise).
First Aiders - Clive Butcher & Mike Forrest (Team Leaders)
Do you have a current first aid certificate? If so, we are in need of First Aiders to be 'on duty' during our services just in case anything happens that requires First Aid to be administered. If you feel you can be of assistance, please email us and post us a copy of your valid First Aid certificate. If you don't have a valid certificat, we can arrange for you to attend a First Aid course.
